Who Are We?

SADARS Logo

Stafford and Districts Amateur Radio Society is a club for anyone with an interest in amateur radio, where they can come and meet like minded people. The club has an informal atmosphere and an enthusiastic membership ,some of whom specialise in particular aspects of the hobby ranging from contesting through to satellite communications. All of which makes Stafford & Districts ARS the ideal place to come and find out about radio.

The club has access to a purpose built "Radio Shack" equipped with HF, VHF and UHF equipment and holds the club callsign GX3SBL. For a more detailed look at the clubs shack and its equipment click the "the Shack" button on the menu to the left or click here.

The club also holds both novice and intermediate licence courses when requested, and club has undertaken construction projects, more of which can be found on the club projects page. The society is more active than ever, with regular events, such as outdoor operating (sometimes at 3:00am!) and camping expeditions. The club welcomes new visitors who can be assured of a warm welcome when they visit.

Stafford & Districts ARS meets every Thursday at 8:00 pm, either in our shack or within the Sports & Social Club. Its advisable when visiting to make yourself known to the security gate as the club is within the AREVA complex.

A club net is held, every Sunday morning at 10:00am, on 145.375. If you hear us then please do call in.
