The Society's Radio Shack

SADARS Shack - Equipment

Stafford and Districts Amateur Radio Society has a purpose built shack, located within the AREVA factory complex, that is equiped for most amateur bands from HF to UHF. It has an impressive array of antennas mounted on a 60ft strumech versatower, which is itself mounted over 25ft above ground level. The antennas are easily visible from the entrance to the AREVA site at the end of St. Leonards Avenue. All modes are used and the club is also operating on both SSTV and PSK31 via the club PC's. We are QRV on APRS and packet using UI-View32 and Winpack and The club APRS station usually acts as a RELAY in the APRS network.

The club recently installed Geostationary Weather Satellite recieving equipment that utilises the feeds from Meteosat 8 and 9 via Eumetcast.

All radio operations are carried out using the club callsign of GX3SBL

Why not come along on one of the thursday night meetings and take a look for yourself?
