The Weather Station

SADARS have recently installed equipment that receives weather satellite images via the Eumetcast rebroadcast system, controlled by Eumetsat. These images range from full disk high resolution images of the earths surface (from 0 degreees) to retransmitted high resolution images from the NOAA series of polar orbiters.

The images are received on a dedicated PC from the "Hotbird 6" satellite, through a standard 80cm satellite TV dish.

The images are assembled and stored ready for display and manipulation on the shack PC which is also used for packet and PSK/RTTY work.
